Glockenturm

The bell tower already belonged to the original Romanesque building and was modifyt in the course of the fortification of the church in the 15th and 16th centuries. It was raised, equipped with a wooden walkway and embrasures. The bell tower houses two bells, a larger one, cast in 1911 in Sighisoara, and a smaller one, cast in 1930 in Sibiu. A clock is housed in the tower, with dials on the north and south sides. These are painted on, the only hand in each case, the hour hand has the shape of a human hand. The mechanism of the clock is still functional. On the west side above the portal there is a bas-relief. It depicts two persons, a clothed and an unclothed kneeling person. This representation could be the baptism of Jesus, others want to see Adam and Eve in it.

HU – HARANGTORONY

A nyugati
